At the Vivekananda Residential School, children from remote and impoverished tribal villages of the Wayanad region in India are offered an opportunity to not only get a good education but also free nutritious meals provided by the school. When this non-profit school reached out to us for help to feed the children of their school there was no doubt in our minds that this was a very worthy cause that needed our time and attention. Since 2012 Sangamithra Foundation has been donating annually to support the meals program at this school so that the students at this school can attend to their scholarly pursuits without hunger.
Can you imagine being unable to afford to buy food for your children? Poverty-stricken parents face this heartbreaking predicament every day. Without an education or the opportunity to earn anything close to a living wage, they simply cannot afford the nutrition their children need to develop.
We rely on kind donors like you to provide lifesaving food for malnourished children and destitute families in need of support. Your donations help us to support feeding programs in desperately poor communities. If you would like to donate to this annual project, please follow this link to our donate page and choose “Meals Program”. Your contribution will support our mission to end child malnutrition and hunger.
